Betsy Muse is a former commercial banker and insurance professional. She earned a degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She and her husband live on a plot of old farm land where she grows most of the fruits and vegetables they eat each year. They have two college-age daughters, two dogs and a cat.

During her time at the Phoenix NBC affiliate, she managed a large newsroom staff including producers, writers, editors, photojournalists, reporters, anchors and assignment editors for daily newscasts.
Brett Calhoun writes about business and investments for ConsumerFu. She is a graduate of Stanford's MBA program and earned a BA in International Business from Howard University.
